                    Pro Tip:

WE SUGGEST HAVING A SEPARATE DEDICATED NOZZLE FOR PRINTING CARBON FIBER

Why? To prevent clogged nozzles when changing between filaments. Due to the different heat requirements and material properties of the higher-temp, particle-filled filaments, it becomes difficult for softer, lower-temp filaments like PLA and Tough to completely push out Carbon Fiber and ABS-R from the nozzle.

The ability to produce some of the most accurate, good-looking parts makes it excellent for detailed prototyping. M3D offers PLA in over 29 vibrant colors across various translucency levels and Chameleon 3D Ink® even has a color-changing feature!

Chameleon changes to a rich white color when exposed to a specific temperature. Available in 4 temperature modes:

                    • ‘Hot’ (60°C/140°F) Chameleon 3D Ink changes color to white when exposed to temperatures greater than 60°C or 140°F.
                    • ‘Warm’ (45°C/113°F) Chameleon 3D Ink changes color to white when exposed to temperatures greater than 45°C or 113°F.
                    • ‘Touch’ (30°C/86°F) Chameleon 3D Ink changes color to white when exposed to temperatures greater than 30°C or 86°F. The heat from your hands will generally reach these temperatures.
                    • ‘Ice’ (15°C/59°F) Chameleon 3D Ink changes color to white when exposed to temperatures greater than 15°C or 59°F. This means the filament is white at room temperature and will return to its color when exposed to colder temperatures.

                    * Nebula and Tiger are tri-chrome. Nebula (Purple-Blue) changes its color to the first color (Pink) at 30°C ('Touch') and to the second (White) at 60°C ('Hot'). Tiger (Dark Brown) changes its color to the first color (Orange) at 30°C ('Touch') and to the second (White) at 45°C ('Warm').

Tough 3D Ink® is a proprietary non-toxic thermoplastic blend made exclusively by M3D. Tough offers unprecedented utility for 3D printing due to its strength and controlled amount of flexibility. When compared to traditional filaments which have a fraction of the bond strength and are typically brittle when printed, Tough 3D Ink is bonded at full strength, allowing you to print longer-lasting objects. Tough is great for medium and large models that need to hold up in the real world or need lots of give.

Tough is M3D’s most popular filament material to date! It tends to sell out very quickly, so be sure to buy now to reserve your favorite colors.

                        250ft Tough 115A 3D Ink® $20 Ea.

Tough 115A 3D Ink® is a proprietary non-toxic thermoplastic blend made exclusively by M3D. Tough 115A is a new formulation of our original Tough filament that offers unprecedented utility for 3D printing due to its strength and controlled amount of flexibility. Tough and Tough 115A are both elastic, resistant to compression loading and, therefore, durable. While more rigid than the original Tough, Tough 115A retains its flexible properties. Both Tough and Tough 115A bond easily and have a high resistance to oils, greases and solvents, making them fit for a variety of industrial applications.

ABS-R 3D Ink® is a proprietary non-toxic thermoplastic blend made exclusively by M3D. ABS-R is an ABS replacement filament for engineering needs. It has increased bonding and lower warp, and does not require a heated print bed, making it a more accessible alternative while still offering the same capabilities of ABS. ABS-R is great for professional engineering where parts need to be machined or have complex overhangs and need to have just a little give.

                        Technical Specifications:

                        • Filament Length: 250ft / 76.2m (why do we sell by length?)

                        • Recommended Heated Print Bed Temperature: 87 - 105°C when used, but it is not required
                        • Recommended Build Surfaces: M3D printbed sheet, painter's tape, glue stick, heated bed, hairspray
                        • Other Printer Requirements: Part cooling fan

                        Pro Tip:

To prevent clogged nozzles when changing between filaments, we suggest having separate nozzles when using Carbon Fiber and ABS-R lines of filament. Why? Due to the different heat requirements and material properties of these higher-temp, particle-filled filaments, it becomes difficult for softer, lower-temp filaments like PLA and Tough to completely push out Carbon Fiber and ABS-R from the nozzle.

ABS-R3 3D Ink® is a proprietary non-toxic thermoplastic blend made exclusively by M3D. ABS-R3 is a new addition to our current ABS-R offering that is an ABS replacement filament for engineering needs. Both ABS-R and ABS-R3 filaments print with better bed adhesion and lack the off gassing odor normally experienced with the standard marketplace options. Where ABS-R3 stands out is its flexible properties that reduce warping while showing even greater improvement in bed and layer adhesion compared to standard options.

                        250ft PVA 3D Ink® $45 Ea.

PVA 3D Ink® is polyvinyl alcohol; a soft, water soluble support material that works well with PLA prints. It can be used as a support material with dual extruding 3D printers, and even as a standalone filament. Most PVAs on the market need to be kept in storage containers with low or no humidity. M3D’s PVA will be a bit more resistant than most to ambient exposure. PVA is degradable, dissolves in sufficient water, and allows for complex designs where removing support material manually would otherwise be difficult or impossible. Best for models printed from PLA due to easy adhesion.

                        Technical Specifications:

                        • Filament Length: 250ft / 76.2m (why do we sell by length?)
                        • Filament Diameter: 1.75mm (not chipped, can be used with almost all 3D printers). The 3-letter code printed on the spool will automatically set the correct extrusion temperature in the M3D software for the Micro, Micro+, and the Pro.
                        • Shore Hardness: 19D
                        • Material Density (ISO 1183): 1.22g/cm3
                        • Recommended Extrusion Temperature: 185 - 195°C
                        • Recommended Heated Print Bed Temperature: 45 - 60°C when used, but it is not required
                        • Recommended Build Surfaces: M3D printbed sheet, painter's tape, glue stick, glass plate, PEI
                        • Other Printer Requirements: Part cooling fan

                        Pro Tip:

This material is for advanced users. PVA is humidity-sensitive, so it’s recommended to keep it in storage containers with low humidity. For optimal results, we recommend using a desiccant storage system with this filament.

PVB 3D Ink® is polyvinyl butyral; a resin that can serve as a support material with dual extruding 3D printers and is also commonly used as a standalone filament. PVB can be post-processed to remove layer lines thanks to its strength and ability to reduce warping even without a heated bed. Allows for more consistent and quality prints that smooth with dunking or misting. Great for models that need to be post-processed and applications that require strong binding, optical clarity, adhesion to many surfaces, toughness and flexibility.

                            250ft POM 3D Ink® $20 Ea.

POM 3D Ink® is polyoxymethylene; a material also known as acetal or polyacetal (copolymer). It is often used for mechanical parts such as gear wheels and ball bearings due to its high stiffness and resistance to wear, elasticity, water and heat. M3D’s POM offers improved printability and smoothness without impacting friction characteristics. This is an experimental filament that requires both the heated bed and chamber in order to work. Designed for precision engineering parts only.

Final sale. This material is highly experimental and is recommended for expert use only. Please note that some M3D printers may not support the maximum recommended heated print bed temperature.

                            Technical Specifications:

                            • Filament Length: 250ft / 76.2m (why do we sell by length?)

                            • Recommended Heated Print Bed Temperature: 100 - 150°C
                            • Recommended Build Surfaces: M3D printbed sheet, glue stick, PEI
                            • Other Printer Requirements: Heated bed, enclosure, all metal hotend

                            Pro Tip:

POM is one if the very few M3D filaments that require a heated bed (and a heated chamber). Putting the heated bed to level 1 or 2 should help POM adhere and reduce warping. When using any other filament on the Micro or Micro+, the only time the heated bed will help is when the print is large and covers much of the surface. For your convenience, you can always keep the heated bed installed on the printer without powering it or turning it on.

                                                Pro Tip:

To prevent clogged nozzles when changing between filaments, we suggest having separate nozzles when using Carbon Fiber and ABS-R lines of filament. Due to the different heat requirements and material properties of these higher-temp, particle-filled filaments, it becomes difficult for softer, lower-temp filaments like PLA and Tough to completely push out Carbon Fiber and ABS-R from the nozzle.

3D Ink® (PLA Filament) is polylactic acid, a non-toxic biodegradable thermoplastic and one of the most commonly used 3D printing materials. PLA is a great entry-level filament because it is exceptionally easy to work with. PLA does not require a heated bed, makes very rigid prints, allows for consistent extrusion and bonding, and doesn’t warp much. The ability to produce some of the most accurate, good-looking parts makes it excellent for detailed prototyping. M3D offers PLA in over 29 vibrant colors across various translucency levels.

                                                          • Recommended Extrusion Temperature: 215 - 235°C
